Private Residence Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima
Contemporary Japanese House
A contemporary interpretation of Japanese residential architecture, where timeless simplicity meets a refined and modern aesthetic. The design is organized around a tranquil courtyard garden, creating a seamless connection between interior living spaces and nature.
The architecture combines clean, minimal forms with subtle references to traditional Japanese elements, including a gently pitched Japanese-inspired roof and carefully proportioned wooden slat façades. Vertical timber screens add rhythm, depth and texture, creating a distinctive architectural identity while enhancing privacy and filtered natural light.
An understated earth-tone palette is layered with warm wood textures and synthetic timber finishes, creating a calm and tactile atmosphere. The courtyard garden becomes the heart of the residence, introducing greenery, natural light and a sense of serenity into everyday living.
Together, these elements create a modern Zen-inspired residence that balances craftsmanship, materiality and nature an aesthetic yet timeless environment rooted in the essence of contemporary Japanese living.
